T-Explorer is an app that helps new college students explore Boston more by utilising the MBTA. This was tasked during my Interaction Design class where we were expected to create an interactive digital piece for the MBTA

First we were tasked to observe the MBTA stations and trains for a week and take pictures of people behaviours in these areas. This way we were able to collect real current data. After collecting the images we printed them out and collectively as a class started grouping them together to see which behaviours are common.
After gathering data I thought of 3 different design ideas for my digital installation.
After ideation I went to further research by analysing existing apps that were similar to the ones I want to design.
During the lo-fi process I created multiple version of the same screen to explore different layouts. I then had users test the same flow but each time with a different layout screen to figure out which screen worked best. I would see whether it took the user a long time to know what to do and also asked them after going through the flow which they preferred to use.
Before creating the final hi-fis I made sure to have a style guide to make a more distinct brand for my app. Since it's targeted towards college students, I decided to go for more pastel colours. Additionally I created lots of illustrations and added pictures to make the app a lot more engaging.
Here is my final product!
With the explore function, users can find things to do in Boston based on the T-line they are willing to take. Users can pick a T-line and see what each station has to offer. This way students who are new to Boston can easily find things to do with their friends based on the location they have chosen.
The adventure feature allows users to have something to do without having to decide anything. This feature helps with indecisiveness and gives the user something to do based on roughly what they want to do and how far they are willing to travel.
