Scout Trek is an app dedicated for communication and setting up events for boy/girl scouts. As the designer, me and Allison's task for this app was to help redesign their already existing pages and additionally add a new "messaging" feature.

One of our tasks was to create a messaging feature, for users to communicate with their fellow scouts. This feature was specifically requested to be designed as a one way message, where leaders send messages to individuals or the entire troop.
We thought of a simple sequence flow that users can easily follow to correctly send their messages. For each step we made sure users were able to go back or cancel their request, making it less prone to errors.
Additionally we thought it was fun and engaging to have an animation as the loading screen. We created a scout walking through the loading bar to keep it on theme for this app. This way users are less effected by the waiting time.
For this redesign we wanted to focus on making it cohesive with the branding we went for in the messaging feature. We also wanted to pack more features on this feature, since the previous page didn't serve much purpose.
We also decided to change the Home Page to match our updated branding. Since the original idea didn't have many problems all we did was replicate it in our new branding design style.
